Extended Enterprise & Access Codes

Introduction
The Enterprise license allows Accord LMS modules to communicate across different portals.  On one portal you can have a Manager module with the eLearning content catalog.  This provides centralized content management and utilization tracking.   On any number of client portals (each with their own branding, features and members) you can add Learner and Reports modules that connect to the central Manager catalog.  This allows client Learners and Managers to access Learning and reports from their own portal.  The challenge is synchronization of Learner accounts and Learning Roles between the different portals. For example, the LMS Manager module must have a User account for Learner A and be aware of their Learning Roles to serve the appropriate LE to their My Plan. This is straight forward if the Learner A is on the same portal as the Manager module, however things get more complicated when Learner A is a member of a different portal with different local roles.

Manager > My Team > Access Codes
Access Codes can create user accounts and provide role assignments on a specific portal that the Learner belongs to and on the main Manager catalog portal so that the appropriate eLearning content can be presented in the Learner’s My Plan. Access Codes can also grant ‘Team membership’ that comes into play with larger eLearning organizations.

Access Code Submission

Once the codes are created, they can be submitted in a number of different ways to assign access to a user:
  • Manager > My Team > Bulk Role Assignment
  • Manager > My Team > Bulk Learner Import
  • Learner > Access Code Form Submit
    for on page submission
  • Learner > Access Code HTTP Submit
    for third party module submission

Manager > Configuration > Role Based Redirection

Once a user has the proper roles and Team membership assigned, you may want to redirect them to their associated child portal (in case they have registered on the central Manager portal). Role Based Redirection allows you to redirect a user based on their Role or Team assignments.

After the redirection rules are setup in the Manager module, enable redirection from an appropriate Learner module which will actually execute the redirect. The Learner module can be placed on an appropriate page and can have all tabs hidden to maintain a low profile if desired. DNN administrators and host accounts will not be redirected.
