Notification Options

The Accord LMS provides many ways to keep Learners, Managers and Administrators informed of Learning assignments, Learner activity and site status.

SMTP Settings

DNN Host > Host Settings > Advanced Settings > SMTP Server Settings
Configure the SMTP Server for your DNN Portal.

LMS Manager > Configuration > Notifications
Enable LMS Notifications from the LMS. You can also specify Batch Period and Quantity. The Portal Alias will determine the root URL for any links back to your LMS portal.

Email Address Settings

There are three different types of email addresses utilized in Accord LMS / DNN portals that need to be configured during portal setup.

DNN Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Other Settings > Administrator
Each Portal Site Administrator receives email notifications for all site registration activity. In addition, their email address will be used for the "from" address for notifications sent to registering users and other DNN system notifications, like password recovery. All portal DNN Administrators will be listed in this drop down.

LMS Manager > Configuration > Notifications > General Settings > "From" Email Address
All automatically created LMS notifications are sent “from” this email address. These include Learning Event Attempts, Status, Start and Due Date, Learner Limit and Maintenance Expiration notifications.

LMS Manager > Configuration > Notifications > License Notifications > Email Address
Learner Limit and Maintenance Expiration notifications also require a “To” email address. This address should be an account that is monitored on a regular basis, or even a group distribution address.

Learning Event Status Notifications

LMS Manager > Configuration > Notifications > LE Status Notifications (sent to Learners)
Select what types of notifications all your Learners will receive. Notifications can either be for all Learning Events or only for specific LE.

LMS Manager > Configuration > LMS Administrators >
LE Status Notifications (sent to LMS Administrators)
Select what types of notifications will be sent to your LMS Administrators. Notifications can either be for all Learning Events or only for specific LE.

LMS Manager > My Team > Team Management > Manager Details >
LE Status Notifications (sent to Managers)
Select the default notifications that will be sent to your Team Managers. Notifications can either be for all Learning Events or only for specific LE.  Individual Managers can customize these options, see below.

LMS Manager > Catalog > LE Context Menu > View / Edit Status Notification
Status Notifications for Learners and Managers can be set for ALL LE, or only for Specific LE. To select Notifications for Specific LE, access the LE Context Menu from the Manager Catalog.

This will open a dialog box where you can select the types of notifications you want to send just for this Specific LE.

Note: Specific LE Notifications must be enabled in the Manager's LE Status Notification settings for them to receive these notifications.

LMS Manager > My Team > Learner Role Management > Role Details > Date Details
Roles are used to grant Learners access to Learning Events. Each Role, and its associated Learning content, can have Start and Due dates. These dates can either be fixed for all Learners in the Role, or specific for each Learner. In addition there can be renewal periods where the Start and Due dates are reset. Tiered Notifications can set for both Start and Due dates, with the option to notify associated Managers.

Note: Start/Due Date Notifications must be enabled in the Manager's LE Status Notification settings for them to receive these notifications.

License Notifications

LMS Manager > Configuration > Notifications > License Notifications
Tiered Notifications can set for Learner Limit Thresholds and Subscription License or Perpetual Maintenance Expiration. Note: these notification require a “To” email address. This address should be an account that is monitored on a regular basis, or even a group distribution address.
